What’s it worth? The cultural and social value of artists’ workspace

National Federation of Artists' Studio Providers: Annual Conference, 23 October 2008, Liverpool. The second NFASP conference will look at the cultural and social value of artists’ workspace. A range of passionate speakers and participants will challenge existing perceptions, encourage new thinking and stimulate debate amongst those with shared interests.

Sea Change grant to be fund studios in Torbay

A £2.85 million Sea Change grant will contribute to the Cockington Project, a 460-acre historic estate in Torquay. It will see the creation of incubator units, refurbished galleries and multi-use areas for performances and studio space.

Artists’ studios and the Olympics

NFASP has written to the Minister for the Olympics and London, Tessa Jowell, to seek ministerial support to secure artists’ studios as part of the legacy of London 2012.

The Bluecoat Liverpool short-listed for inaugural World Architecture Festival Awards

Designed by Biq, The Bluecoat has been nominated for an award in the category old and new. The centre reopened last March after a major, £12.5m redevelopment programme that incorporated 13 creative industry work spaces and 13 artists’ studios into the build.

The third edition of the register is now available online. It lists 147 groups managing 270 buildings across the UK providing affordable workspace for 6,000 artists.
