New websites: Turning Point Network • Audiences UK

The Turning Point Network for the visual arts sector now has its own site, and developing regional websites • Audiences UK has relaunched as main audience development and advocacy body.

k now has its own dedicated website: www.turningpointnetwork.org.uk.

Turning Point (2006) is the Arts Council England's 10-year strategy for strengthening the visual arts across the country. It is a pilot project to establish a network of local, regional and national partners in the visual arts sector, made up of both individuals and organisations.

Turning Point regional websites are also being developed this year. So far, there are sites for:

Audiences UK: The national network of Audience Development Agencies has relaunched as Audiences UK. Its role is to advocate the needs of audiences in the cultural sector and to increase levels of arts access and engagement.

To coincide with the launch, Audiences UK has published a ‘manifesto’ setting out five key messages for funders, policy-makers and the cultural sector in England to sustain and increase levels of cultural engagement in economically challenging times.

Audiences UK website is currently addressing the levels of local government spending on the arts on its site.
