• Mayor Boris Johnson has also unveiled the Cultural Strategy for London for 2012 and beyond, which is now open for public consultation until 6 September. The strategy claims to "recognise the significance of the cultural and creative sectors... and puts forward a case for continued support and investment.."

• Veronica Wadley has been announced as the new London Chair for Arts Council England. The appointment was announced by Mayor of London Boris Johnson and approved by Secretary of State for Culture, Media, Olympics and Sport Jeremy Hunt.
