APD network reverts to a-n

The Artists' Professional Development Network (APD), of which NFASP is a member - is being handed back over to a-n The Artists' Information Company.

Mir Jansen, of Yorkshire Artspace, is also no longer the co-ordinator for the national network and website as of 1 July.

a-n originally launched the network, which since 2000 has been a UK-wide intelligence and exchange forum for organisations pro-actively developing information, advice, training and professional development services for visual and applied artists. NFASP is one of APD's members with a national remit.

In the past year, APD supported three collaborative projects as part of its intended 'final year'.  One of these were two events in the North West organised by NFASP together with AXIS - Value Added: Advocating for artists’ studio groups on-line, which looked at how studio groups and their individual members can develop a powerful web presence by addressing the following: What makes for an effective advocacy message? How you demonstrate public benefit and what tools and techniques can help you to develop a website or make an existing one even better?

In the meantime, members can still use the same email address to forward amendments to their listing: apd@apd-network.info.
